Meet Dr. Nordstrom
A Bit About Dr. Derek Nordstrom


Dr. Nordstrom grew up on a farm in Viking, 45 minutes west of Wainwright. His father, Dr. Bryan Nordstrom, has been the Dentist in Viking since 1980. Dr. Nordstrom graduated High School in Viking and then attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton where he achieved his Bachelor of Medical Science, and then his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005.


After Dental School, Dr. Nordstrom moved to the Yukon to work for the Pearson Dental Group where he practiced general dentistry in Whitehorse and the surrounding communities for two years. Dr. Nordstrom gained immeasurable experience from his time in the Yukon, guided by several great teachers including Drs. Ron Pearson and John Stern.

Dr. Nordstrom spent much of his free time in the Yukon in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. While Dr. Nordstrom loved the lifestyle that working in the Yukon provided, he always intended to come back to settle in Alberta, close to his friends and family.

Dr. Nordstrom and his wife Angela very much enjoy living in Wainwright, and would like to thank the community for being so kind and welcoming to them.
